Jackson Electric Membership Corporation (Jackson EMC) is a member-owned, not-for-profit electric cooperative headquartered in Jefferson, Georgia. Founded in 1938, Jackson EMC is one of the largest electric cooperatives in the United States and the largest of Georgia’s electric membership corporations (EMCs). It provides electric service across a 10-county service area that includes Gwinnett, Hall, Jackson, Barrow, Madison, Clarke, Banks, Lumpkin, Franklin, and Oglethorpe counties—an area that spans from metro Atlanta to Gainesville and Athens.
